Almost every buyer brings a car along.

The trade-in often decides whether a deal happens, and it almost always comes up only once the buyer is already on the forecourt. Your salesperson then has to hold a conversation they could not prepare for.

The trade-in comes up too late.

A buyer is enthusiastic about a vehicle and only at the end asks what their own car is still worth. From that moment the conversation is no longer about the vehicle they want, but about the vehicle they want rid of.

Without data up front nobody can say anything sensible about it. A cautious figure comes out, the buyer finds it too low, and the good mood is gone.

It makes an enormous difference if make, year, mileage and condition are already known before they walk in.

  • A deal that looked done runs aground on a figure nobody had prepared.
  • Your salesperson has to estimate on the spot, and that costs them margin or the customer.
  • The buyer leaves to "think it over".

What the system does.

Collecting the data before the conversation turns to money.

  1. 01

    The question comes by itself

As soon as a buyer gets serious about a vehicle, the question comes whether they can trade in their current car. That gets addressed rather than sidestepped.

  2. 02

    Which car do they bring

Make, model, year, fuel and mileage. With a Dutch or Belgian registration that saves a few questions.

  3. 03

    Condition and history

Service book, damage history, number of owners, anything notable. Exactly the points that set the figure later.

  4. 04

    Photos attached

Four photos all round and one of the odometer. Through WhatsApp or email that is the easiest step for most people.

  5. 05

    To the salesperson

Here the system stops. Naming a figure is human work, and it stays that way. What lies there is a complete picture to start from.

  6. 06

    The appointment around it

The trade-in hangs off the viewing or test drive, so both vehicles are on the schedule at the same time.

A conversation that comes out of this.

An example, not a recording of a customer. You set the tone yourself, this one is ours.

The money conversation starts prepared.

No estimate on the forecourt

Your salesperson has make, year, mileage, history and pictures before the buyer walks in.

Fewer surprises

Damage or a dubious history surfaces before a figure is on the table.

Two vehicles, one appointment

The trade-in hangs off the viewing, so time is scheduled to actually look at it.

The buyer feels taken seriously

Their car is no side issue to them. Asking about it straight away saves suspicion later in the conversation.

Not a loose little helper.

This is the workflow where the system most clearly stops and a person begins. It collects, it does not judge.

Which layers this touches
  • UnderstandWhich car they bring and in what condition.
  • ActAsking further, collecting photos and handing over to a salesperson.
  • ConnectThe trade-in hangs off the file of the vehicle they want to buy.
Works together with
  • Test driveSchedules the moment both vehicles are there.
  • FinancingWorks together when the trade-in becomes part of the financing.
  • EmailCatches the trade-in question that comes in by email, often with photos.

What this agent does not do.

  • It never names a trade-in value, not even approximately.
  • It does not judge damage or condition from photos.
  • It makes no statement about what your margin allows.
  • It does not promise the trade-in will be taken.
